After
hearing someone mention the You Yangs recently I was reminded that a while ago I was playing around with Google Earth and thought I'd take a look at them from space. I think this image really sums up the current relationship between nature and man rather nicely.

This is natural selection at work. The areas with steep gradients manage to live on, while the flat areas are vulnerable. The mountainous areas get their comeuppance when there are bushfires and we can't save them. But then again, we usually start the bushfires anyway.
Nature will have the last laugh. It will still be here when we're well-gone.
